Danylo's struggle to restore his hearing

9 year old Danylo has sensorineural deafness, he cannot hear anything without hearing aids. Hearing continues to decline, Danylo's hearing aids are already 7 years old, and they do not cope. At the Hearing Service Center, the boy was fitted with the most suitable Oticon Xceed devices. This is a huge amount for a family.

Danylo was born on time, but with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. The massage helped to get rid of the torticollis.

At the age of 2, his parents began to notice that Danylo often did not respond to appeals to him. The audiologist, after examining the child, made a diagnosis: bilateral sensorineural deafness.

Nataliia regularly takes her son to classes with a deaf teacher and a speech therapist, as it is important to teach Danylo to understand speech and speak. So far, the boy says "dad", "mom", "grandma". The family is learning sign language together with Danylo.

Danylo went to the 3rd grade of a specialized boarding school for children who are hard of hearing. He especially likes math and sign language. The sounds of night explosions do not frighten the boy, he removes the devices before going to bed. And during the day, Danylo hides in the basement of the school.

The state-issued hearing aids did not perform the necessary functions, so when Danylo was 3, the family bought him a device for the right ear, which hears better, and later for the left.

At the beginning of August, the boy underwent an examination at the medical and diagnostic center. The specialist stated that it is time to replace the hearing aids, as these devices are designed to capture sounds up to 70 dB, and Danylo needs 90 dB.
