Ilia's struggle with diabetes

      To avoid 25 finger pricks a day and minimize the risk to health, Ilya uses sensors and pods. Their cost for six months is too high for the family. It was extremely difficult for the family to cope with such a financial burden, and now they also pay rent for an apartment: due to hostilities, they had to move to Uzhgorod.
      In accordance with the agreement No. 21 on cooperation between the Ukrainian Charity Exchange and the Charity Aid Operator of the Pomagay Foundation dated 08/31/2020 and the additional agreement No. 21.289 dated 11/12/2024, the project “Ilya’s Fight against Diabetes” was posted on the dobro.ua website in order to attract charitable donations to pay for Zhuzha Ilya’s treatment.
      During the collection, there was a need to use part of the funds collected on the website of the ICF "Ukrainian Charity Exchange" - dobro.ua - to purchase part of the clothes for the boy. Therefore, according to letters No. 61 dated 04.02.2025 and No. 121 dated 18.03.2025, we received the collected UAH 16,800.00 (sixteen thousand eight hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and UAH 37,610.00 (thirty-seven thousand six hundred ten hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's account and continued the collection on the dobro.ua platform.
      In February of this year, we purchased Omnipod Dash pods for Ilya for the amount of UAH 16,800.00 (sixteen thousand eight hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and in March – for the amount of UAH 37,587.00 (thirty-seven thousand five hundred eighty-seven hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
      Later, according to letter No. 593 dated 11/19/2025, we sent a request to close the collection, reduce the project amount to the UBB to the actually collected amount – UAH 92,910.00 (ninety-two thousand nine hundred ten hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and transfer UAH 22,900.00 (twenty-two thousand nine hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to our current account to pay for Ilya's treatment and project administration.
      Thanks to the funds received in October of this year, we purchased and donated Omnipod Dash pods for the boy in the amount of 14,500.00 UAH (fourteen thousand five hundred hryvnias, 00 kopecks).
      Ilya lives with type 1 diabetes, but thanks to the help of caring people and the Omnipod Dash pods he received, his life has become much easier and calmer.
Now he can fully enjoy his childhood - he goes to school, does karate, where he learns strength and endurance, and also discovered a passion for playing the piano. Music inspires him, adding positivity to each new day.
      Mom is infinitely grateful to all caring people for their care, support, and for the opportunity to see her child grow up active, happy, and self-confident.
We plan to use the remaining unused funds in the amount of 24,023.00 UAH (twenty-four thousand twenty-three hryvnias, 00 kopecks) for Ilya's needs in 2025.
