Nicole was born healthy. However, after three months, her parents noticed that she was not following her toys with her eyes. An ophthalmologist diagnosed partial atrophy of the optic nerves. An MRI scan later revealed microcephaly – a congenital brain malformation.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘POMAGAYEM’ dated 31 August 2020 and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. No. 350 of 23 January 2026, the project ‘Nicole’s Fight – For a Better Life’ was published on the website of the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘UBB’ – dobro.ua – with the aim of raising donations to cover the cost of treatment for Mykhlyk Nicole.
The initial target amount for the project was 54,821.00 UAH (fifty-four thousand eight hundred and twenty-one hryvnias, 00 kopecks). Once the full amount required to cover Nicole’s treatment had been raised on two fundraising platforms: the Ukrainian Charity Exchange (UCE) and the Pomagayem Charitable Foundation, we requested that the campaign be closed, that the project amount on the UCE be reduced to the actual amount raised – 32,797.00 UAH (thirty-two thousand seven hundred and ninety-seven hryvnias, 00 kopecks) and to transfer the funds to our bank account to cover the girl’s treatment and project administration, in accordance with letter No. 142 dated 14 April 2026.
In April of this year, we supported the girl with special dietary products and medicines totalling 17,084.00 UAH (seventeen thousand eighty-four hryvnias, 00 kopecks).

The Mykhlyk family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the care and support that enable Nicole to receive the medication and nutrition she needs. This is extremely important, as thanks to timely assistance she is able to take vital medication: drugs for epileptic seizures, sedatives, and painkillers, which are indispensable during periods of exacerbation. A stable diet is very important for Nicole, and timely assistance allows her to eat the special porridge, which is the only food she can consume.
At present, Nicole’s condition can be considered relatively stable, although her parents are aware of how difficult it is for her to get through the spring, when flare-ups often occur. Every contribution you make is an important step towards making her daily life easier, reducing her physical pain and improving her quality of life.
We plan to use the remaining unused funds of 15,713.00 UAH (fifteen thousand seven hundred and thirteen hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to meet Nicole’s needs in 2026.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the donors and partners at dobro.ua for their help, and to the UBB team for their long-standing cooperation!
