Nicole was born healthy. But after three months, her parents noticed that their daughter wasn’t tracking her toys with her eyes. An ophthalmologist diagnosed partial atrophy of the optic nerves. Later, an MRI revealed microcephaly—a congenital brain malformation.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organization International Charitable Foundation “Ukrainian Charity Exchange” and the Charitable Aid Operator, the Charitable Foundation “POMAGAYEM,” dated August 31, 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. No. 350 dated February 3, 2026, the project “Nicole’s Fight—For a Better Life” was posted on the website of the Charitable Organization International Charitable Foundation “UBB”—dobro.ua—with the aim of raising donations to cover the cost of Nicole Mykhlyk’s treatment.
The initial target amount for the project was 54,821.00 UAH (fifty-four thousand eight hundred twenty-one hryvnias, 00 kopecks). Once the full amount needed to cover Nicole’s treatment had been raised on two fundraising platforms—the Ukrainian Charity Exchange (UBB) and the “Pomagayem” Charitable Foundation—we requested that the fundraiser be closed, that the project amount on UBB be reduced to the actual amount raised—32,797.00 UAH (thirty-two thousand seven hundred ninety-seven hryvnias, 00 kopecks)—and to transfer the funds to our bank account to cover the girl’s treatment and project administration, in accordance with Letter No. 142 dated April 14, 2026.
In April of this year, we provided the girl with special nutrition and medications worth 17,084.00 UAH (seventeen thousand eighty-four hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and in June, we provided aid to Nicole totaling 14,073.15 UAH (fourteen thousand seventy-three hryvnias, 15 kopecks), They also covered the project’s administrative costs.
Thanks to the support of all those who care, Nicole receives the essential medications she needs to control her epileptic seizures in a timely manner, as well as sedatives and pain relievers during flare-ups. Her mother is very grateful for the special porridges, which are the only food she can eat. As of today, Nicole’s condition has remained relatively stable, although the summer months usually bring flare-ups of her illness. Her mother sincerely thanks everyone who has supported her daughter during this difficult time. This help and care are invaluable to the family.
At this time, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the girl’s needs.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and the UCE team for their long-standing cooperation!
