Timur's struggle with autism. 2
Tymur is 8 years old and has been struggling with autism since he was 3 years old. The child still does not speak, does not understand spoken language, has no self-care skills, and is on a special strict diet. The mother is raising the boy alone.
The first signs that the child was developing with a delay were noticed by the mother at an early age. He did not respond to spoken language, did not begin to speak, had no eye contact, did not respond to toys, and did not interact with others. At first, the doctors calmed him down and noted his individual peculiarities, but when the child turned 3, the specialists diagnosed him with childhood autism, amino acid metabolism disorder, hyperhomocysteinemia, secondary mitochondrial dysfunction, acetonemia.
The mother's life turned into a struggle for her son's health and full life.
It is not known what causes autism, there are many reasons. This diagnosis leads to a delay in the child's development, lack of speech, understanding of spoken language, inability to do simple things without the help of adults, and problems with socialization. Tymur has problems with learning, as he has difficulty concentrating, does not understand human emotions, and cannot play with other children. If he does not regularly attend correctional classes (such as sensory integration, neurocorrection, ABA therapy, speech therapist and psychologist), the child may be left with developmental delays and later with severe disabilities.
Unfortunately, due to the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, being in the epicenter of shelling and explosions, Tymur received enormous stress, which led to a setback in the child's development. The mother and son had to leave their home in Kharkiv and move to another city, and they are barely making ends meet. But they cannot stop the treatment and rehabilitation courses, because they are systematic and necessary on an ongoing basis for the boy's mental and psychological development.
After the last course of rehabilitation, positive dynamics in the child's development were detected: Tymur became more attentive, diligent and concentrated, gained new knowledge and skills. The boy was happy to attend correctional classes and tried to repeat simple words after the specialist.
His mother is once again appealing to all those who care to raise funds for Tymur's new course of treatment, as he desperately needs rehabilitation on a regular basis for further developmental dynamics.
