"Our life it is a seven-year-long battle for our son’s health, but we are not giving up! Our battle goes on!", tells us Maxim’s parents. This young family was looking forward to welcoming their first child into the world. Little Maxim entered this world in a hurry. He was born at 31 weeks and was a real tiny fellow – 41 cm long and 1520 grams.

The premature delivery was worsened by scalp trauma with subluxation of the atlas, the instability of cervical vertebrae from 1st to 5th. Due to a medical mistake little Maxim was given an increased dose of oxygen in the incubator and this brought to retinopathy of stage 5.

The baby underwent four eye surgeries in the Okhmadet Children's Hospital in Kyiv. However, a small victory was shaken by a huge shock – one-year-old Maxim was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, organic CNS disease, spastic tetraplegia, rough delayed psychomotor and speech development, ventriculomegaly.

"The greatest happiness you can ever be blessed in life with is to have a happy childhood”, says Maxim’s mother who dreams of her son’s happiness and is ready to follow her dream at all cost. Her son’s life is her life. The struggle for Maxim’s life and all these little joys of ordinary kids – costs much to the Buyalskiys family. His achievements is a great evidence of a hard work done by people who love Maxim.

The tenth therapy round at Kozyavkin clinic brought some great progress – Maxim has started to sit on his own. The physicians believe the boy has great potential and excellent dynamics and has all the chances to enjoy a full life! New results require another rehabilitation course, which costs UAH 17,990. Maxim’s family cannot manage these expenses alone. Support Maxim on his journey toward his complete recovery!
