An ordinary boy lives in the town of Zvenyhorodka in the Cherkasy region. Valerii has friends, loves fishing, and attends a wrestling club. Or rather, he used to attend. Because now the boy has started another fight. One that is much more important than sports – the fight for his health. Diabetes, which was recently diagnosed in the boy, has brought about certain changes in Valerii's lifestyle and behavior.
The disease developed very rapidly. At first, the child had signs of SARS and a high temperature for 5 days. But then the boy began to lose weight rapidly, drink large amounts of fluid, and lost about 10 kg in 7 days. Tests showed high levels of sugar and acetone. The boy was urgently sent to the Cherkasy Regional Hospital. There, he received a final diagnosis. Unfortunately, it was very serious. The boy has insulin-dependent diabetes, which is currently incurable.
However, it is possible to control the disease and reduce the fatal impact of diabetes on health. The situation is aggravated by the fact that Valerii's body reacts sharply to a decrease in blood sugar levels. The boy has already had hypoglycemia six times, which is very dangerous for his life. Thanks to the efforts of his doctor and parents, Valerii is getting used to his new living conditions relatively calmly. But without modern devices for continuous glucose monitoring, it is impossible to control the boy's condition. The boy's mother is asking for help in providing Valerii with monitoring sensors.
