But three days later, the boy's condition became critical: his lips turned blue, he had sharp abdominal pain, and it was difficult to breathe.

The ambulance took the child to intensive care. The blood glucose level was 32.3 mmol/l - an extremely dangerous indicator. Nikita spent two days in intensive care, then he was transferred to the endocrinology department, where the selection of insulin drugs began - Novorapid and Levemir.

At first, Nikita was given 6 insulin injections a day. And in August 2024, thanks to the help of kind people and the efforts of a journalist, the family was able to purchase an insulin pump.

2 months before that, he started using sensors, which made blood sugar control much easier. Previously, Nikita had to prick his fingers up to twenty times a day, but now five is enough.

Sensors and a pump help him live without the constant threat of sugar spikes, complications from blood vessels, heart, kidneys and vision. Unfortunately, the sensor works for 14 days, and its cost is quite high.

Nikita is in the third grade. He likes math, drawing and physical education. He easily finds a common language with people and loves animals very much.
