Imagine searching your child’s eyes every single day for 3,285 days, hoping to hear even a single sound. For Mariia, this hope finally became a reality only five years ago. When Marian was nine, he finally uttered the most precious word "mama".
Today, Marian is 14. His diagnosis is childhood autism (Subgroup A). It is not a life sentence, but it is a long journey that requires immense effort. And every step on this path is possible because of your support. Thanks to previous rehabilitation courses, we are seeing incredible positive dynamics. Marian isn’t just growing; he is learning to live independently. He has mastered skills that were once impossible: fastening zippers and buttons, eating on his own, and overcoming food selectivity. He has even learned to ride a bicycle – a massive achievement for his physical coordination. He has begun to understand spoken language and is actively learning AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). Using a specialized program called Tippitolk, he is already trying to communicate with his classmates and specialists.
But this journey is far from over. He needs to fully master the Tippitolk program and constantly expand his passive vocabulary so that he can truly express his thoughts and feelings. Every new skill is a small victory for him, but behind every victory stands a harsh financial reality. Marian’s father has a Category III disability (epilepsy), and his mother works as a Christian Ethics teacher. This is a family held together by faith and love, but a teacher’s salary simply cannot cover the 3-4 expensive rehabilitation courses per year that are vital for the boy’s development.
We sincerely thank everyone who has already joined us! Your 10, 50, or 100 hryvnias are not just money – they are a chance for Marian to be independent in this world. Help him step into the future with confidence and keep talking to us!
