The fate of eight-year-old Demir from the city of Bohuslav was not very favorable to him. Already at the age of five, the boy started having epileptic seizures. Demir spends more time in hospitals than at home. His epileptic diagnosis causes constant short-term seizures, which can reach up to 40 times a day. The only way to reduce the number of seizures is with the help of medications that must be taken daily.

We had already helped the boy with medicines before, and so the family had the opportunity for more thorough consultations and determining the right treatment for their son. Since April 2024, Demir has done a lot: these were nightly EEG monitoring, consultations with neurologists, an epileptologist, a psychiatrist, and a geneticist. Demir underwent many tests to rule out metabolic disorders and to re-describe the genetic result. At the same time, the boy takes developmental and corrective classes. All this is very draining on the family's financial situation, but despite everything, the parents are emotionally strong.

Demir is growing up, and doctors need to change the dosage of medications. Unfortunately, while adjusting the dosage, the boy's state of unstable remission worsened, he suffers from periodic hallucinations and dizziness, and he gets tired quickly. Due to his physical and psychological condition, Demir graduated from the first grade while receiving individualized instruction. Demir has learned to read, write and count.

Demir loves socializing, playing with children and riding his bike. When he feels better, he even plays soccer and loves playing with cars. He cannot play computer games like other children. Demir compensates for this by playing live games on the street. Demir loves Ukraine, collects chevrons and all the symbols, toy weapons, and plans to become a soldier.

Without help, the family is unable to cope with Demir's treatment. Anticonvulsants are too expensive, and the boy cannot live without them. Help Demir!
