Help the school to fix dismal conditions

This year proved to be very challenging for the Babansk Specialized School. The decrease in state funding does not leave room for repair works during the summer holidays; there are no means to fix the school building conditions for the new academic year. Hence, the school staff requested our help to fix some of the issues.

The Babansk Specialized School is an educational, socio-psychological and rehabilitation complex for children with intellectual disabilities. The institution provides general education, social assistance and rehabilitation as well as preparing children for an independent life.

There are 88 children at the school, including 9 orphans and children deprived of parental care under guardianship, 6 children with disabilities and 25 children from significantly large families. They are from Cherkasy Oblast’: Umansky, Zhashkovsky, Khristinovsky, Talnovsky districs.

The main goal of the special school is the integration of children with intellectual disabilities into society. The school provides the following vocational training for its students: sewing, woodworking, agriculture and vegetable growing. Additionally, the school has equipment for milk processing and its own mini bakery, which provides children with fresh bread and bakery products.

For the school’s plumbing system to function properly, the following plumbing parts need to be urgently replaced: cold water taps – 9 pcs., shower heads – 15 pcs., shower hoses – 15 pcs., washbasin faucets – 13 pcs., shower faucets – 6 pcs., kitchen faucets – 3 pcs., kitchen mixers – 2 pcs., mixers – 2 pcs.

Unfortunately, the school does not have the necessary support from the government to fix its current issues. To help the school and its pupils, we need to raise 19 961 UAH to purchase the necessary plumbing parts. We request your help to support the pupils of the Babansk school by supporting this project!
