Little Denys needs treatment right now. Time is not on his side, and every day lost could take away what he is fighting so desperately for.
Denys was born a healthy baby. There were no signs of trouble, but just a few hours after he was born, his breathing became difficult. He developed serious breathing problems and was rushed to intensive care. He spent five long days on a ventilator, between heaven and earth, between fear and hope. Then, for another three weeks in the neonatal pathology department, the fight for his life continued.
When it seemed that the worst was behind him, a new challenge arose. At four months old, Denys could not hold his head up, was not interested in toys, and could not roll over. His mother sensed that something was wrong. After numerous tests, the family received a heartbreaking diagnosis: unbalanced chromosomal pathology and hypoplasia of the corpus callosum.
Despite her fear and pain, his mother did not give up. She prepared her son for rehabilitation, believing that development was possible. But then Denys had his first epileptic seizure. Rehabilitation had to be stopped. Months of hospitals, expensive medicines, endless tests, and exhausting waiting began.
But even in these conditions, Denys began to take small but important steps forward. Today, he is learning to focus his gaze, pick up toys (albeit with one hand for now), smile, and respond to the world around him. Each of these movements is a victory for him, achieved despite extremely difficult circumstances.
The war changed the family's life. They were forced to move, and rehabilitation stopped. Because of this, Denys lost some of the skills he had acquired. But his mother does not give up, because she knows that her son has a chance. A chance to learn to sit, take his first steps, and maybe even speak. This chance exists only with regular and professional rehabilitation.
His mother is raising Denys on her own. She dreams of the day when she will hear her son say the most cherished word, “mom,” and when he will be able to say that he feels better, that he is stronger, that he is moving forward. But without our collective support, this dream may remain just a dream.
Today, Denys needs our help. Rehabilitation is not just a class, it is his chance for a future, for development, for a life without constant struggle.
Please help Denys!
