Matvii is only 14 years old, but he has already had to grow up. As a child, he grew up without a father, with only his mother around, who did everything she could to give her son a sense of security and support. However, life again prepared a difficult test for this family.
A year ago, Matvii was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Since then, the boy's life has changed dramatically. Daily blood sugar control, insulin injections, constant food calculations, fear of sharp fluctuations in indicators – all this has become part of his everyday life. For a teenager, it is not just difficult – it is a huge emotional and physical strain.
The situation is also complicated by the fact that the family is internally displaced from Kharkiv. The loss of home, familiar life and stability has been superimposed on a new diagnosis and a constant struggle for the child's health. Matvii's mother is practically in a state of tension around the clock, because she bears full responsibility for her son's condition and has no opportunity to rest either morally or financially.
Despite all the difficulties, Matvii is a bright, intelligent and kind boy. He tries to live a normal teenage life, study, communicate, dream. But diabetes does not let him forget about himself for a minute.
To stably control the disease, Matvii constantly needs insulin, consumables, glucose level control devices, special nutrition and regular examinations. All these expenses are unbearable for a mother who is raising her son on her own and is forced to start life from scratch after a forced move. That is why Matvii's family is asking for help.
Every support is a chance for a more stable life, peaceful nights and an opportunity for the boy to live his teenage life not in constant fear, but with hope for the future.
