"Dacha" - our home!

Home is a warm cozy place where you can sit with you friends over a cup of aromatic tea, where there are people who can listen to you and understand you. Center Dacha is like home for children affected by cancer and their families. The treatment lasts for months but for during diagnosis making, waiting for surgery and pauses between chemotherapy cycles inpatient bed is not available.

Cancer treatment is very expensive, so the families don’t have money to rent an apartment. Their salvation is Center Dacha in which Zaporuka Foundation provides children and their families with free accommodation.

At the Dacha six families live daily and annually almost 200 families get free accommodation, that is more than a half of all the patients hospitalized at the National Cancer Institute. Fathers and grandparents can come to the Center to visit and to help. We let the whole family live together because it is so important to be close to relatives and to feel their support in such a difficult situation.

To pay a monthly rent for Center Dacha 31 000 UAH are required. It is important that the functioning of the Center don’t stop because of inability to pay rent.

It is important that a family with an ill child has a separate room where a mom can read a fairy tale before going to bed, where she can embrace her baby and in the evening prayer say “Thank you!” that her family has one problem less and they don’t have to look for accommodation!
