Five-year-old Darynka needs funds for a new rehabilitation course – to keep developing and moving closer to an ordinary childhood.
When Darynka was born, she wasn't breathing. She was immediately transferred to intensive care and placed on a ventilator – and was later diagnosed with brain damage. Rehabilitation began when she was just 5 months old, and at one year old, doctors confirmed that Darynka has cerebral palsy – spastic quadriplegia, which causes increased muscle tone in both the arms and legs. She also has expressive language disorder and a delay in neuropsychological development. Treatment has continued ever since.
Today Darynka is 5 years old. Thanks to rehabilitation, her spasticity has decreased, her sleep has improved, she holds her head better, focuses her attention on toys, and shows interest in activities. She is cheerful and curious – and she really wants to live the way other children do: run around, play with friends, dance, and go to kindergarten.
Rehabilitation is what makes this possible. Without it, most of these dreams will remain out of reach.
Support Darynka – let her childhood be full and bright.
