Fight the disease

Vika was stressed throughout her pregnancy. As a result, the baby was born at 35 weeks. In the discharge summary, he was diagnosed with hypoxic-ischemic damage to the central nervous system. This caused a developmental delay. When he was one and a half years old, Andriy stopped talking, looking into his eyes, and became selective in his eating. Three years later, he was diagnosed with childhood autism.
In accordance with the agreement No. 21 on cooperation between the CO ICF ‘Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace’ and the Charity Aid Operator CF ‘POMAGAYEM’ of 31.08.2020 and the additional agreement No. 21.282 of 25.09.2024, the project ‘Fight the Disease’ was posted on the website of the CO ICF ‘UMB’ - dobro.ua - to attract donations to pay for the treatment of Andriy Kovalchuk.
Subsequently, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the dobro.ua website to purchase medicines for the boy. Therefore, according to letters No. 591 dated 15.10.2024 and No. 703 dated 20.11.2024, we received the collected UAH 6,600.00 (six thousand six hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) and UAH 5,800.00 (five thousand eight hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) to the account of the Foundation and continued to collect on the dobro.ua platform.
Thanks to the funds received, we purchased and delivered special food and medicines for Andriy in October and November 2024 in the amount of UAH 11,800.00 (eleven thousand eight hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks).
In January of this year, we again appealed to our regular partners, the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, with a request to transfer part of the funds raised to purchase special food and medicines for Andriy. So, according to the letter No. 49 dated 28.01.2025, we received the collected UAH 9,300.00 (nine thousand three hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) to the account of the Foundation and continued fundraising on the dobro.ua platform. 
All the funds received in the amount of UAH 9,300.00 (nine thousand three hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) were spent in February 2025 on the purchase of special food and medicines for Andriy. 
Andriy is very happy to see spring coming, despite all the weather variability. The boy has started drawing on a tablet, choosing different programmes, and he is doing great! Andrey also dreams of going outside with his friends. Unfortunately, he has no friends yet. Now the boy is being examined by specialists, because the child's behaviour has deteriorated again and he has started having problems with his diet. 
So far, all the funds transferred from the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace have been spent on the child's needs, and the project is still raising funds.
