Hlieb was born a month before the full-scale invasion. His family had to hide in the basement from explosions more than once due to the constant shelling of Marhanets. At the age of one and a half, Hlieb was diagnosed with diabetes. Freestyle Libre 2 sensors save the child from numerous finger pricks, measuring the glucose level every 10 minutes. Now it is crucial to raise funds to provide the boy with a year's supply of sensors.

Hlieb's childhood was spent under air raids and explosions. Recently, a rocket exploded near their house, damaging the buildings and greatly scaring the family. They left for Svaliava for 5 months, but were forced to return.

Most likely, the development of diabetes was provoked by prolonged stress from explosions during shelling and arrivals. On September 12, 2023, Olesia noticed the smell of acetone from her son's mouth. The drugs helped remove acetone from the body. The next day, the situation repeated. Hlieb became lethargic, irritable, and often asked to drink. The woman measured his glucose level and was horrified: 14 mmol/l, with a normal level of 5.

When the boy was brought to the hospital, his glucose level was already 28.5 mmol/l. Hlieb was in intensive care for 12 days. Due to the instability of his condition, he had to prick his fingers every hour. The wounds simply did not have time to heal.

Almost immediately, his parents began to buy sensors for Hlieb – a device forоонл 24-hour glucose monitoring. Every 10 minutes, data appears on the phone, which has a special program installed. The sensor helps keep the glucose level in the optimal range and avoid complications from vision, kidneys, and heart.

Hlieb loves to learn about the world, knows objects, animals, and colors, but does not speak yet. He regularly works with a speech therapist. Parents bought their son a trampoline, on which he loves to jump, thereby reducing the level of glucose in the body through physical exertion.

The family is in a difficult financial situation. Let's help raise funds to provide Hlieb with a year's supply of Freestyle Libre 2 sensors and save him from painful finger punctures!
