To fight back against diabetes. 2

      Gleb was born a month before the full-scale invasion. His family repeatedly had to hide in the basement from explosions due to the constant shelling of Marhanets. At the age of one and a half, Gleb was diagnosed with diabetes. The Freestyle Libre 2 sensors save the child from many finger punctures by measuring his glucose level every 10 minutes.
      In accordance with the agreement No. 21 on cooperation between the CO ICF ‘Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace’ and the Charity Operator of the Charity Fund “Pomogayem” dated 31.08.2020 and the additional agreement No. 21.301 dated 25.02.2025, the project "Fight Back Diabetes. 2" project to raise charitable donations to pay for Basansky Gleb's treatment.
      During the fundraising, it became necessary to use part of the funds raised on the website of the Ukrainian Charity Exchange - dobro.ua - to purchase some sensors for the boy. Therefore, according to the letter No. 156 dated 09.04.2025, we received the collected UAH 29,100.00 (twenty-nine thousand one hundred hryvnias and 00 kopecks) to the account of the Foundation and continued to collect on the dobro.ua platform. 

      In April of this year, we purchased Freestyle Libre 2 sensors for the boy in the amount of 29,100.00 UAH (twenty-nine thousand one hundred hryvnia, 00 kopecks).

      The initial amount to be raised was 55,238.00 UAH (fifty-five thousand two hundred and thirty-eight hryvnias, 00 kopecks). When the entire amount needed to pay for Gleb's treatment was raised on two information platforms: the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation and the Pomagaem Charitable Foundation, we asked our regular partners, the Ukrainian Charity Exchange Charitable Foundation - dobro.ua, to close the fundraiser, reduce the amount of the project on the UBB to the amount actually raised - 34,343.00 UAH (thirty-four thousand three hundred and forty-three hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and to transfer 5,243.00 UAH (five thousand two hundred and forty-three hryvnias, 00 kopecks) to the Fund's current account for the purchase of sensors and project administration, in accordance with letter No. 241 dated 13 June 2025.

      At the end of June 2025, we purchased the much-needed Freestyle Libre-2 sensors for Gleb for a total amount of 3,525.85 UAH (three thousand five hundred and twenty-five hryvnias, 85 kopecks). We also paid for the administration of the project.

      Gleb's condition is currently not very stable. Constant fluctuations in blood sugar levels, especially in extreme heat, have a negative effect on the child's body. When his sugar rises too high, he becomes extremely nervous and irritable, but thanks to the Freestyle Libre 2 sensors, his mother can provide timely assistance. The doctor also increased his daily insulin dose.

      In June this year, the family travelled to Zaporizhia for a consultation with a neurologist. After the consultation, the specialist prescribed the necessary treatment and informed them that Gleb had an autism spectrum disorder.

      Gleb's summer was stressful due to the constant shelling of Marhanets. Every day, his sugar levels were monitored and he received insulin injections. To cheer the child up a little, friends gave him a swimming pool, where the boy happily spent his time on hot days. Every evening, his mother takes her son to the playground so that he can play with other children.

      The Basansky family is sincerely grateful to everyone who supported the fundraiser for Gleb.

      Currently, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the child's needs.
