David is 12 years old. He has moved up to the seventh grade, loves computer games and is fond of swimming and sports. He enjoys spending time with his friends outdoors. He always has two best friends beside him who support him and help him not to feel different.
When David was only 3 years old, he was taken to intensive care in critical condition. Later his parents heard a lifelong diagnosis, type 1 diabetes. But even in the face of such trials, David remained a bright, joyful and strong boy. He accepted his illness much faster than his parents and older brother. His courage and positive attitude inspire the whole family.
David dreams of becoming a doctor to help people and one day find a way to defeat diabetes. He proves that even with an illness you can dream, grow and move towards your goal. But today he himself needs help with continuous monitoring. Monitoring sensors will let the boy live without constant finger pricks while still keeping his glucose level under control. They will help him avoid the complications caused by sudden changes in blood sugar, do the things he loves and spend time freely with friends.
Support the boy on the path to his dreams. Help David stay active, courageous and confident about tomorrow, and do not let diabetes limit his childhood.
