Denys dreams of sitting independently. Help us!

A project titled “Denys dreams of sitting on his own. Help him!” was published on the website of the Charitable Organization International Charity Fund “Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace” (dobro.ua).
The goal of the project was to raise funds for rehabilitation for Denys, who has been diagnosed with: unbalanced chromosomal abnormality with additional material of unknown origin in the short arm of chromosome 13, karyotype 46 XY add (13p10), bilateral inguinal cryptorchidism (operated), polydactyly of the lower limbs (operated), hypogenesis of the corpus callosum, tetraparesis, spastic contracture of leaflet muscles, symptomatic epilepsy with complex and simple partial seizures with secondary bilateralization.

Rehabilitation has been prescribed by doctors on a regular basis and has shown positive results.

A total of UAH 42,220.00 was raised via the dobro.ua platform. Using these funds, NGO “EPI-PROSVITA” paid UAH 38,420.00 for Denys Sikorskyi’s rehabilitation at “Samotuzhka Plus” Physical Recovery Center for Children by Tetiana Ivchatova. The course took place from May 12 to June 20, 2025, as confirmed by the act of completed services dated June 20, 2025.
The remaining amount of UAH 3,800.00 was used for project administration, as documented in the act of completed works dated June 23, 2025.

Results of the rehabilitation course

After a long two-year break, Denys resumed active rehabilitation. During this intensive course, he achieved noticeable progress:

• 💤 His sleep improved — it became calmer and longer.

• 💧 Aquatic therapy helped him develop better body awareness.

• 🤲 He began to use his less active arm more often.

• ⚖️ He showed signs of balance control, managing to hold his back upright briefly without support.

• 😊 Most importantly, his emotional state improved — he became more joyful and confident.

These changes mark the beginning of a long but hopeful journey. Everyone who supported Denys became a part of these small (yet incredibly important) victories.

This stage of rehabilitation was highly significant and impactful for the child. The observed changes demonstrate both the effectiveness of the program and the need for continued support.

These achievements are clear evidence of the rehabilitation’s effectiveness.
