When childhood and condition depend on the sensor

This is the irrepressible Arianka, who had no health problems until the age of 6. Three years ago everything seemed fine. But suddenly she began losing weight, making frequent trips to the bathroom, and sweating heavily at night. After an examination she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Arianka is now in 3rd grade. She has many friends and happily attends dance classes, which she loves. She also dreams of learning piano, but unfortunately her busy schedule does not yet allow for it.

Thanks to her parents' support and her own strength, Ariana quickly learned to restrain herself in her eating and understand her condition. The first year was a real ordeal. Without a sensor it was very hard – there were sharp blood sugar spikes and constant anxiety. Ariana wants to be like all other children – not to worry about whether her blood sugar will drop, or whether she can eat something at a friend's party. And it is the sensor that helps her greatly with this: she is gradually learning to manage her condition and see her readings in time.

Using a glucometer constantly is difficult because her fingers hurt. She does not always feel when her blood sugar is dropping. On walks, the girl sometimes feels unwell due to sudden changes. On top of that, she finds it psychologically uncomfortable to carry a glucometer, as it draws attention.

The sensor makes her life significantly easier: instead of constant finger pricks and having to go back home, she can simply check her readings on her phone and feel calmer and more confident.

Her parents buy sensors when they can, but unfortunately it is not enough. The whole family is therefore asking for help with sensors and will be sincerely grateful for any support. For Arianka, this is not just a device – it is peace of mind and a safer childhood.
