Only in-patient treatment – antibiotics by intravenous administration - is more than seventy thousand hryvnias. And it is necessary to go to the hospital urgently when the disease recurrence begins. Otherwise, the patient state may become completely bad, up to the resuscitation department. Olena’s illness imposes such severe conditions on her. And it is impossible for Olena to go to the resuscitation department: a little son does not want her to go to the hospital. He is eagerly waiting when she is back. The timely course of intensive care is the essential condition for the young woman survival. She needs our help right now. 

Olena is unique for Ukraine. The number of 30-year old patients with the diagnosis she has can be counted on one hand. Those who delivered their own babies are even less. Just recently they received the support of the state and charities and now their life is a little easier. However, Olena's life is still a constant struggle.

Her disease, cystic fibrosis, will always be with the woman, and it is still considered incurable in the whole world. Severe infections that become chronic settle in the human body as a cause of this disease. Only regular courses of antibiotics by intravenous administration, in large doses, are able to contain these infections and prevent them from destroying the body. You can live with cystic fibrosis. However, this is extremely expensive. After all, medicines are necessary not only for the in-patient treatment but also for everyday life. Many of them are provided at the expense of the budget funds, but not all. Probably, no family can cope with the financial burden of treating cystic fibrosis on their own.
