After a short pause in the Lviv region, there is another rapid increase in the incidence of Covid-19, and the region already meets all the criteria of the "red" zone of epidemic danger. For almost a week, 2,000-2,200 new patients with coronavirus have been detected in the region every day, most of whom are infected with the Omicron strain. More than 1,500 patients are already in hospitals, including 165 children. However, experts say that the peak of the disease is still ahead.

In this dangerous situation, the question of the technical readiness of all hospital facilities for the treatment of patients with coronavirus and the ability to provide timely and quality respiratory support to patients with severe disease is again voiced. First of all, we are talking about lung ventilators, which in critical conditions are almost the only hope for saving. People's lives depend on their uninterrupted work.

Our urgent help is needed by the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital, in the therapeutic building of which there are two departments with 80 beds to provide medical care for patients with coronavirus infection. In addition, the building has a 6-bed intensive care unit for particularly severe patients in need of respiratory support using ventilators. Every month, more than 100 patients are treated in these departments, 10% of whom require intensive and special care. Such treatment is impossible without ventilators, which help people to breathe and live non-stop day and night. Failure of at least one of them is critical and can cost someone their life…

The goal of the project is to raise funds and repair the VELA ventilator as soon as possible and give doctors of the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital the opportunity to perform their professional duties quickly and efficiently, and patients with coronavirus to recover and continue to live a full life.
