In November 2018, Kyivstar, in partnership with dobro.ua/ the Ukrainian Charity Exchange, launched the ‘Children’s Hope’ project to help children with heart conditions and cancer who are undergoing treatment in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the full-scale war, the programme continues to operate and provide medical facilities with modern equipment. In 2023, the project was expanded to help children with burns, and in the summer of 2025, the initiative began supporting paediatric intensive care units.

The State Non-Profit Enterprise ‘National Specialised Children’s Hospital “Okhmatdyt” of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine’, which, at the end of June 2026, incorporated the State Institution ‘Scientific and Practical Medical Centre for Paediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine’, is a leading national medical institution where, every year, thousands of children from across Ukraine receive highly specialised cardiological and cardiac surgical care free of charge.

Surgeries are performed here from the very first hours of life; emergency and elective care is provided to children of all age groups; and patients from socially vulnerable groups and families who have been forced to leave their homes due to the war are treated.

Every year, around 457 operations are carried out in the cardiothoracic surgery department, and in the first half of 2026 alone, doctors have already operated on 328 children with congenital and acquired heart defects.

To ensure the smooth and high-quality running of its operating theatres, the Centre requires modern medical instrument tables with hydraulic height adjustment. These allow the work surface to be quickly adapted to the surgeon’s needs and the stage of the operation, ensure constant access to sterile instruments and materials, improve the organisation of the surgical team’s work, and reduce the number of unnecessary movements by medical staff.

The tables’ mobile design allows them to be moved easily without compromising the sterility of the surgical field, whilst the sturdy base ensures instruments are securely held in place. The use of such equipment enhances the surgical team’s efficiency, facilitates compliance with infection control standards and creates safer conditions for performing complex surgical procedures on young patients.
