In November 2018, Kyivstar, in partnership with the Ukrainian Charity Exchange, launched the ‘Children’s Hope’ project to help children with heart conditions and cancer who are undergoing treatment in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the programme continues to operate and provide medical facilities with state-of-the-art equipment. In 2023, the project was expanded to help children with burns, and in the summer of 2025, the initiative began supporting paediatric intensive care units.
In August 2026, as part of the ‘Oncology’ strand, assistance will be provided to the ‘Regional Medical Centre for Family Health’, a municipal non-profit organisation under the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
The hospital has renovated the intensive care wards of the oncohaematology centre, where children with cancer are treated, using its own resources. As part of the ‘Children’s Hope’ project, some of the wards have already been fitted out with modern furniture. To fully complete the refurbishment of the department, the remaining furniture sets need to be purchased.
Thanks to charitable donations from Kyivstar subscribers, furniture will be purchased to complete the fitting out of five wards in the intensive care and extracorporeal treatment department. The new furniture will make the children’s stay in hospital more comfortable, aid their psychological recovery and provide medical staff with convenient and functional conditions for their daily work.
The Regional Family Health Medical Centre is the only multi-specialist paediatric medical facility in the south-eastern region of Ukraine that provides highly specialised medical care in accordance with the requirements for Level III hospitals. The hospital has a capacity of 645 beds, and over 1,000 children receive specialist treatment there every year.
