In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project “Children's Hope” to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals.

In the framework of the project in the direction of Oncology project, in February 25, 2020, assistance was received by The State Institution “Romodanov Neurosurgery Institute, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine”.


The Department of Pediatric Neurosurgery operates within the hospital, providing treatment to the most severe children with tumors of the nervous system from all over Ukraine. The clinic treats diseases such as spinal tumors, brain stem tumors, tumors of the third ventricle of the brain, meduloblastoma and other lesions of the nervous system with neoplasms. In 2019, the clinic underwent surgical treatment for 412 children, 177 of whom had neuro-oncological diseases.

Funds raised was purchased of a Bowa ARC 250 electrocoagulation unit, which is required for surgery for children with cancer. This equipment will allow children with oncology to perform operations at a better level.
