Children's hope: help to St. Nicholas Hospital
In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and assist Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
As part of the Cardiology project, in June 2022, the Children’s Diagnostic Department of the Separate Subdivision of St. Nicholas Hospital of the 1st Territorial Association of Lviv will receive assistance.
The funds raised for the hospital will be used to purchase a S8-3 cardiac sensor for an existing Philips Affiniti 30 ultrasound machine for ultrasound examinations in children with heart disease. A Holter EC-2H ECG recorder, an EC-ABP ambulatory blood pressure monitor with a patient cable, a recorder case and a monitor cuff will also be purchased. This equipment will provide extensive counseling and treatment services for children with cardiorheumatic diseases: heart disease, high blood pressure, heart rhythm disorders.
Every year, the hospital provides care to about 300 children with heart disease. Since January 2022, the Department of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery has opened on the basis of the hospital, where 35 children with congenital heart defects have been successfully operated on.
