Children's hope: help to the Odessa regional hospital. Cancer 7
In November 2018, the Kyivstar company together with the Ukrainian Charity Exchange launched the charity program "Children's Hope" to help children with heart diseases and cancer treated in Ukrainian hospitals. Despite the war, the program continues to operate and help Ukrainian hospitals with the necessary medical equipment.
Subscribers of the company's prepaid communication can make a charitable donation for two areas of care (oncology or cardio) and choose one of the five regions (Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Odesa and Kharkiv) to which hospitals the funds are directed. Benefactors who are not users of Kyivstar mobile services can make transfers using a bank card. Subscribers can also make a transfer via USSD code and when topping up their account on the pay.kyivstar.ua page. 100% of the donations are used by the "UBB" MBF for the implementation of the project.
As part of the oncology project, on November 23, 2022, an air sterilizer HPO-25 was handed over to the pediatric hematology department of the Municipal non-profit enterprise "Odesa Regional Children's Clinical Hospital of the Odesa Regional Council", and on November 30, 2022, a Golem transport table was handed over Trans H and the Golem Dia E transfusion chair, which will assist in the treatment and movement of children in the ward. This equipment is already working and helps children recover faster.
The hospital has a department of pediatric hematology, where children with malignant neoplasms of various organs and systems are receiving inpatient treatment.Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, the hospital has provided assistance to 200 children with oncological diseases, of which 31 children were initially treated.
Every year, there are up to 70 children diagnosed for the first time. During the year, up to 500 patients are treated, while each child in the treatment process needs constant monitoring of various medical indicators, in particular, the process of coagulation of the blood system and monitoring of the patients' microflora. The medical institution provides assistance to children from the city of Odesa, Odesa region and neighboring regions.
