Children's Hope: Help to the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery 2

In November 2018, Kyivstar, together with the Ukrainian Philanthropic Marketplace, launched the project "Children's Hope" to help children with heart and cancer diseases in Ukrainian hospitals.

As part of the Cardiology project, in June 2021, the State Institution "Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine" will receive assistance.

Every year, thousands of children from all over Ukraine receive highly qualified cardiological and cardiac surgery care free of charge at the medical institution. The center conducts operations on children with congenital heart defects from the first hours of life, as well as provides emergency and planned care for children of all ages with cardiovascular disease. Treatment is also provided to children from orphanages, socially disadvantaged children and IDPs.

About 70% of all care for children in Ukraine with congenital heart disease is provided by doctors of the Center. Every year, the specialists of the institution perform more than 2,500 operations on cardiovascular pathology of any complexity in patients of all ages.

The funds raised for the needs of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care will be used to purchase a Baxter Claria Peritoneal Dialysis Machine with consumables. The Heratherm IGS 180 Thermostat and the Atago Clinical Refractometer will be transferred to the Laboratory Diagnostic Department. This equipment will improve the provision of medical care to children and promote rapid recovery.
