Kind and cheerful Sofia was born healthy. But a year ago, she started having health problems. She had stomach aches, was losing weight, and was thirsty. Tests showed that her blood sugar was several times higher than normal for a long time. Sofia was admitted to the hospital.
Since then, the girl has been living with insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes. Daily insulin injections in the morning, evening and before each meal. Precise miscalculation of food through the scales. Sofia had to overcome her fear of injections and learn to constantly monitor her blood sugar. After all, the cunning of this disease is that a person looks healthy on the outside, but in a matter of seconds can feel unwell and even lose consciousness.
Her parents constantly buy Sofia disposable needles for syringe pens, alcohol wipes, and lancets. Although they work, they no longer have enough money for all the necessary treatment. The last time, thanks to the help of benefactors, we managed to buy sensors for several months of relatively quiet life for the girl. Thanks to this, now Sofia has a childhood like other healthy children: she studies well, attends a vocal circle, likes to perform with her friends, and goes to an art class. Sofiika regularly undergoes examinations at the hospital, and currently has full compensation of her sugar level and no complications. Without the sensor, she would have to have her fingers punctured almost every hour, which is very difficult for the child mentally and physically.
Unfortunately, the sensors provided for charity are running out. If we do not raise funds for new sensors, the girl will return to her gloomy life with constant injections and the horror of suddenly being in the hospital.
