From birth, Anna developed normally for her age, but at 10 months everything changed dramatically. The girl was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Her relatives sought help in hospitals, hoping that the diagnosis was wrong, but no miracle happened. The family accepted the disease and learned to live with it, monitoring Anna's blood sugar and health.
Anna has been living with diabetes for 11 years now. Despite her illness, she does well in school, attends dance classes, and loves performing on stage, where she takes first place. To avoid complications from the disease, the girl regularly undergoes examinations and rehabilitation to maintain and strengthen her health.
With the start of the full-scale invasion, Anya's family, along with her grandmother, were forced to leave their home in Kharkiv and move to a safer place in Kharkiv region, but it was very difficult because they could not even afford to buy test strips. Volunteers helped Anya with her treatment.
The financial situation is still quite difficult and does not allow them to buy the continuous glucose monitoring sensors that Anya desperately needs. The girl measures her sugar with a glucometer and dreams of having sensors. The family will be very grateful for any help and support!
