Mariyka is ten years old and has been living with type 1 diabetes for over a year. The disease was diagnosed last spring, when the girl's condition was already critical. The doctors made the diagnosis when Mariyka was already in intensive care. Since then, constant weighing and counting of food, insulin injections, and hourly blood measurements have become part of the girl's life. She even has to prick her fingers at night.
Mariyka's blood sugar levels fluctuated sharply, which greatly affected the girl's well-being and could cause complications in the future. Mariyka was very afraid of constant injections and even refused to eat so as not to have to take them.
Continuous monitoring sensors could help Mariyka, but the family cannot afford them. Her mother cannot work because she has to stay at home with her daughter. The girl is not yet able to calculate the amount of insulin she needs and monitor her condition completely and correctly on her own.
She is a very active, sincere, and talented girl who attends various clubs and sports sections. But now, because of her age, she is embarrassed to measure her sugar level with a glucometer in front of her friends. The solution is to install sensors that continuously show Mariya's sugar levels. Her mother is asking everyone who cares to help purchase a supply of sensors for Mariia.
