Six-year-old Maksym is a very smart and active boy: he loves to draw, sing Ukrainian songs, play soccer, tennis, and swim. When he was only a year and a half old, he was admitted to intensive care with a blood sugar level four times higher than normal and received a terrible diagnosis – type 1 diabetes.
This irrevocably changed the family's life: the boy was denied access to school due to the danger of sudden changes in his condition, and constant sugar monitoring and insulin therapy prevent his mother from working. The family remains strong and united despite all the trials, but the numerous finger pricks, up to twenty times a day, and insulin injections have become a real challenge.
Maksym needs continuous glucose monitoring sensors – devices that allow him to monitor his sugar levels in real time without painful finger pricks. This is not just a matter of comfort: it is an opportunity to live a full life, study, play, and sleep without the risk of nocturnal hypoglycemia. However, such a life-saving device is completely out of reach for the family due to its cost. Help this boy, who loves this world so much, not to lose faith in it!
