Assistance to the Kharkiv Perinatal Center

In the Kharkov Regional Perinatal Center, women in labor are giving birth despite the constant attack from the sky by Russia. The shelling does not stop day or night. Now there is one neonatal intensive care unit in the entire Kharkov region. And it is just on the basis of the perinatal center. Doctors here work round the clock to save the lives of young patients. Now there are 15 children in the intensive care unit, who need medical care, modern equipment and all the efforts of doctors who do not leave their place of work.

The head of the center, Irina Kondratova, explains: It is impossible to give birth in basements that serve as a shelter.

"When the question arose of what to do, where to give birth, how to find safe conditions, we realized that in those basements that we have, we cannot deploy an operating room or birthing room, it would not withstand any sanitary standards. We decided to deploy everything here - in the infectious disease unit. It works as a delivery room and an operating room, we have a room where we transfer girls with children and partners", Kondratova says.

Despite the optimistic mood of doctors and the coordinated work of all medical personnel, they need technical assistance. Namely medical equipment. As of today, 10 new beds for newborns and two double-channel syringe pumps for infusion therapy for children are needed quickly. This list of needs is not complete. Much more is needed. But we will start with a small aid project. And then, with your help, we will expand our support of this hospital.
