The main goal of the intensive care unit for profoundly premature infants at the NICU "Okhmatdyt" is to save lives and provide the highest quality care for preterm infants, whose weight sometimes does not reach 1 kg. One of the key challenges doctors face in caring for these vulnerable babies is providing them with adequate nutrition to support their growth and development. In some cases, premature babies cannot tolerate enteral nutrition that comes through the digestive system. In these situations, parenteral nutrition is used as a means of delivering essential nutrients directly into the bloodstream through a catheter. For this purpose, special laminar flow boxes are used, where catheters and all consumables are disinfected and sterilized under HEPA filters.

The components of parenteral nutrition may include a combination of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and electrolytes. The specific components and the amount of each are carefully calculated by a healthcare professional to meet the individual nutritional needs of the young patient. This is an integral part of preterm care and requires special attention from doctors.

Although parenteral nutrition can save the lives of these fragile babies, it requires special equipment and resources for safe and effective administration. Therefore, we are appealing to you today to support the "Ohmatdyt's" profoundly premature infants unit in purchasing the necessary equipment for parenteral nutrition, namely to pay for the maintenance of the BIO BAN 48 laminar flow box using the necessary components with the replacement of HEPA filters.

Also, within this project, we aim to purchase an adapter cable for Oximax Sp02 sensors to monitor the vital functions of children's bodies. This is a non-invasive and painless monitoring of arterial blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate in young patients. It is connected to the patient monitor and is indispensable in round-the-clock nursing.

With your help, we can help premature babies under the care of doctors at "Okhmatdyt".

Support the project or tell your friends about it! Together we can quickly raise the necessary amount and purchase urgent equipment for the hospital.
