Assistance to displaced Ukrainians – LEO STATES

LEO STATES shelters have provided comfortable accommodation for hundreds of displaced individuals who lost their homes due to the war. Currently, LEO STATES houses both large families and elderly people who were forced to flee the horrors of war and leave territories in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Some of them even lack information about the state of their homes due to the absence of communication with the occupied territories. These people have lost their ordinary lives, and although they have moved to a safer place, they and their children still continue to feel the impact of the war in their lives. Therefore, in addition to housing, displaced families receive regular psychological and medical support, and assistance with employment at LEO STATES. Altogether, more than 200 people including 65 children reside in two shelters located in the Lviv and Kyiv regions.

The LEO STATES project was created at the beginning of the war as a private initiative that united over 50 volunteers from across Ukraine. In April 2024, LEO STATES received an award from the European Commission in the category "Special Recognition of Ukraine's Efforts in Reconstruction and Recovery".

The goal of the fundraiser on dobro.ua is to support our shelters. We have ongoing expenses for repairs, payments for plumbing and electrical services, salaries for administrators and accountant, and expenses for equipping the houses with necessary items and appliances. As part of the project, we are raising part of the required amount, but there are still many needs.
