Helping a maternity hospital in Donetsk region

Children continue to be born despite the war and all the horrors that are happening to our country. The Russian occupiers have been destroying everything in their path. But they will never succeed in destroying the will to live, the belief in victory and a free Ukraine. Ukrainians have shown that they know how to unite and help. This time we are asking for help for the maternity hospital, which is on the verge of hostilities.

Every day the doctors of the Perinatal Center at the Pokrovsk Clinical Hospital*, pregnant women and newborn babies wake up and fall asleep to artillery shelling. This, unfortunately, is their normal life. However, their optimism, faith in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and desire to save children do not allow them to stop doing their job. Our goal is to help doctors by purchasing the necessary medical supplies to save children.

In 2023, 666 babies have already been born in this perinatal center. 60 of them needed treatment in the neonatal intensive care unit. This is the only perinatal center currently operating in this area. The hospital staff faced even more difficult conditions to save babies in this terrible time of war.

Currently, the maternity ward needs to purchase special positioners, stackers and covers for ditches that ensure: 

- Keeping babies warm;
- Reducing psychomotor arousal;
- Ensuring physiological (natural) body position;
- Development of respiratory, digestive and circulatory functions;
- Prevention of mechanical injuries, skull deformities and severe motor disorders.

And most importantly, positioners and layers allow babies to "feel" their arms and legs. They spend less energy and strength to move, which is so necessary for faster nursing.
