Aid for Frontline Communities in Sumy Region

In April 2025, the project “Assistance to frontline communities of Sumy region” was posted on the website of the BO ICF “UBB” - dobro.ua - the purpose of which was to collect funds for the payment of food products. The target amount of funds within the collection was 30,000.00 hryvnias.
The collection of funds was completed in July, and on July 15 we paid for the bread.
Given the urgent need, we added funds from the fund’s budget, which made it possible to make a purchase in the amount of 40,000.00 hryvnias, 30,000.00 hryvnias. of which were funds received from the BO ICF “UBB”.
The transfer of products was carried out for the Department of Social Policy of the Sumy Regional State Administration, and the administration of the Department, in turn, distributed bread to residents of the Bilopil community of Sumy region.
The situation in this community is particularly difficult, explosions are recorded daily, and providing the basic needs of the population is complicated. Thanks to the implementation of the project, it was possible to organize regular bread deliveries.
The purchase volume of UAH 40,000 allowed to meet the needs of the community for approximately one month. A total of 1,600 people received assistance, and bread was distributed once a week for one month. The first delivery took place on July 30, and the last on August 26.
Bread distribution is carried out even under shelling. In some cases, there is only 1–1.5 hours to deliver the product to everyone who needs it. Part of the aid is sent to the remote village of Babakivka, where the population is mainly elderly and where humanitarian cargo arrives extremely rarely.
For residents who are unable to receive assistance on their own, bread is delivered by relatives or neighbors. The distribution is organized in coordination with the village headman: registration lists are kept, recipients are marked, and control is exercised to ensure that everyone in need receives assistance.
