Anyone who has ever seen a premature child will not be able to forget it. Tiny fingers, skin thinner than tissue paper: new life is enclosed in an infinitely fragile shell. All the hope of loved ones is on the skill of doctors who will help the baby survive and develop. You can imagine how painful it is for both the child's relatives and the doctors when there are methods of treating a baby in the world, but in this country and in this city they are not available. Let's help the smallest ones get top-class medical care!

In children born before 32 weeks of gestation, cerebral immaturity often leads to intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH): this occurs in 60-90% of cases. With hemorrhages of the third and fourth degrees, the circulation of cerebrospinal fluid is disturbed, which leads to expansion of the ventricles of the brain and hydrocephalus. It is severe IVH and post-hemorrhagic hydrocephalus that often lead to the death of premature babies.

To minimize the consequences of hemorrhages (to clear the ventricles of the brain from blood and blood clots), the Rudnev Clinical Center for Mother and Child needs a ventriculoscope device. It will save from death and prevent the severe consequences of IVH (neurological disorders) in hundreds and thousands of newborn babies in our region.

We personally met with the neurosurgeon of the Center. Rudnev, who underwent an internship at Okhmatdit on a ventriculoscope and has since dreamed of such an apparatus. Using it, you can not only help children with IVH - you can treat meningitis, encephalitis, ventriculitis, conduct a brain biopsy, and all this with minimal surgical intervention: a small incision of 3 cm. One of the clinics in the neighboring countries conducts 33 types of operations using a ventriculoscopic.

Nowadays, many newborns with severe brain damage could be delivered to Dnipro by sanitary aviation for such operations, but the city simply does not have equipment that would allow saving babies.

Equipment supplier Karl Storz, taking into account the charitable donation, agreed to make a serious discount for the Rudnev Center. The device together with accessories will cost UAH 514 745.

Operations that will be performed with the help of a ventriculoscope will help many children not to become subscribers of our foundation in a few years, saving them from severe neurological disorders. And many thanks to this device will simply survive. Let's make the future of Ukrainian children happier together!
