Let's help Dima take a step into the future

On 04/07/2025, the project “Let's help Dima take a step into the future” for a total amount of UAH 69,700.00 for the treatment of Dmytro Pidhainyi was posted on the platform of the CO ICF “UBB” dobro.ua. The aim of the project was to raise funds for a boy who was born with a diagnosis of Spina Bifida of the lumbar spine, a complex congenital pathology that affects the spinal cord and nervous system. Due to this disease, Dima developed a fixed spinal cord syndrome, which causes severe pain, impaired mobility and threatens with serious complications.

On April 16, 2025, Dmytro underwent a complex neurosurgical intervention to eliminate the fixation and implant a dura mater in the spinal cord.

During the operation, specialized consumables were used:

- Neurophysiological monitoring, which allowed surgeons to monitor the state of nerve conduction in real time and ensure maximum safety during the intervention.

- A bovine pericardium patch used for reconstruction of the dura mater, an important step for further stabilization and protection of the spinal cord.

Currently, Dima is in the hospital for further treatment and observation by doctors. Ahead is a period of recovery, monitoring of the nervous system and gradual rehabilitation.
