Tragedy ended with a walk of the then five-year-old Ilya in the courtyard of his house. During the children's games, a branch got into Ilya's eye. The child ran home with his hand closed his eye. It became clear that the boy's right eye was injured.

Mom took Ilya to Luhansk, to the hospital. The child's eyes were sewn up. After the sutures dissolved, it became clear that something was wrong. Vision to Ilya did not return. Moreover, vision in the healthy eye began to fall. Examination of the injured eye ended with a terrible diagnosis. Doctors insisted that Ilya's eye be removed. If this is not done, then the other eye may also go blind. I had to take this terrible step, and Ilya has been living with a prosthetic right eye since the age of five.

But this, alas, is not all. The miracle didn't happen. Over the next five years, Ilya's left eye began to gradually lose sight...

Ilya managed to finish 9 classes of a local school in the city of Novoaydar, Luhansk region. But a problem with his eyes does not allow him to live normally. Already in the fourteenth eye of life, the vision of the remaining eye decreased four times! There was a real threat to remain blind forever. In 2019, Ilya underwent an operation in Okhmatdet. At sixteen, the guy, gradually losing his sight, managed to enter the school and should become a cook.

But another problem arose – detachment of the retina of the only eye began. Doctors recommended the introduction of an Ozurdex capsule into the eye. One injection of the drug costs UAH 25,934. Ilya's parents found money for 1 injection. After that there was an improvement. But after four months, the capsule dissolved and the guy's vision began to fall again. Only the father works in the family. He is an electrician at the RES. The family cannot buy a new Ozurdex, and without it, Ilya may lose his sight altogether.
