Seventeen-year-old Artur is a displaced person from Kherson, currently living with his family in Uzhhorod. The boy was born healthy, but the war made its adjustments: after being evacuated under shelling, he developed type 1 diabetes mellitus against a background of severe stress.
This is a serious chronic disease that requires daily insulin therapy and constant monitoring of glucose levels. Without proper monitoring, diabetes can cause serious complications – to the eyes, kidneys, blood vessels, limbs.
To control the disease, Artur needs continuous sugar level monitoring sensors that transmit sugar level data to a smartphone in real time. They allow him to avoid dangerous conditions – hypo- and hyperglycemia, especially at night, when symptoms may be invisible. One sensor works for only 14 days, and their cost is too high for a family that had to desperately break away from its past to protect the future. Support Artur – help him find the security and comfort that he so needs.
