Let's help doctors save children's hearts!

To save thousands of Ukrainian children with heart diseases, a team of specialists from the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery (full name – State Institution "Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine") (Kyiv) urgently needs a modern mobile ultrasound apparatus of an expert class for examining the heart of newborns and children of the first year of life from all over Ukraine.

Every year, the Center for Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery performs more than 2 000 interventions for children with congenital heart defects. Among them, a significant part are children under 1 year of age with complex and critical heart defects who need urgent help.

To maintain the expert level of providing medical care to the patients of the Center, the team of specialists needs modern equipment, with which it is possible: to carry out accurate diagnostics of diseases, successful surgical correction and postoperative treatment, both in the emergency treatment and in the hospital. And this is about 4-5 thousand examinations per year. After all, an ultrasound examination of the heart (or echocardiography), which is carried out using ultrasound scanners, plays a primary role at each stage of medical care.

The availability of a modern ultrasound device with high visualization quality will allow in most cases to avoid expensive invasive diagnostic examinations that require sedation of the patient and have a harmful effect of ionizing radiation.

For 8 years from the moment of its foundation, one of the fields of work of the Charity Fund "KIDDO" has been systemic support to medical institutions, because we understand that by supporting doctors in providing professional medical care to children, we thereby increase the number of young patients who receive access to treatment. And most importantly, we enable thousands of children to live a full and healthy life.
