Denys Dosuzhy, call sign AYAKS, commander of the anti-tank section of the anti-tank platoon of the fire support company. The fight for Denys's health has been going on for 10 months, and all this time he has been suffering from pain.

Denys was born in the Kherson region, from the age of 6 he was brought up in a boarding school. In 2016, he went to defend Ukraine from Russian aggression – he was 24 at the time. "I realized that it was my duty to defend our independence, so I did it responsibly for eight years. I took part in battles in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in the ATO and the OOS. Our unit held the defense of Kharkiv and took part in the Kharkiv offensive," Denys says.

On February 1, 2023, during the assault in the Luhansk region, he was injured in the spine and spinal cord. And he has been fighting for his health for 10 months. All this time, Denys suffers from terrible neuropathic pain in his lower limbs  this is a consequence of the slaughter of the horse's tail. The pains are cutting, sometimes the feeling is as if the muscles are breaking, the feet are being cut. Because of the pain, he can't sit for a long time, can't go for a walk or fully master life in a wheelchair (the chair is the only means of movement because his legs don't work). He can't sleep – constant pain prevents this.

Every day and night of Denys, every movement is accompanied by hellish pain. "It seems that in my life there is absolute hopelessness  10 months of constant struggle, and it is not easier for me," says Denys.

Doctors state that the only salvation is surgical neuromodulation. Kyiv specialists of the Institute of Neurosurgery agreed to perform such an operation. The operation will be free of charge, but it is necessary to order a device that will be implanted in the body – its cost 740,000 UAH.

Unfortunately, Denys cannot overcome such an amount on his own, so we are asking for help from everyone who cares!

Denys underwent the first stage of rehabilitation after the injury. Due to the pain, he was forced to interrupt it. Specialists give good forecasts for recovery, but for this, first of all, it is necessary to reduce the pain syndrome, and you can return to classes.

Neuromodulation is the only hope for recovery and a pain-free life!
