Sofia is 11 years old and has been suffering from insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes for five years. Since the first grade, instead of enjoying her new life, she has been receiving painful injections that have already caused muscle tissue to thicken. 5-6 insulin injections a day and 15 finger punctures to measure sugar, which cause wounds, are all necessary for the girl to exist, because high or low blood sugar levels threaten her life. Sugar has to be measured regardless of the time of day. And this means sleepless nights, syringes, expensive tests, ointments, vitamins and examinations. As well as a balanced, high-quality low-carbohydrate diet and natural sugar substitutes. The family is trying to provide all this for their child.

Sofia is the second child in the family. Her mother works as an assistant for children with special needs for a minimum wage, so she has to ask for help in purchasing continuous glucose monitoring sensors to compensate for diabetes, as they are very expensive. Using the sensors will help the child reduce the pain of constant punctures and sugar measurements, and ensure her restful sleep. Sofia will be more independent, she will be able to go to the art classes she loves so much, go for walks with her friends, which will give her the opportunity to feel less dependent and the same as all her friends.
