Help premature babies. Dnepr. 2

In recent years there has been a steady increase in the birth of children early. As you know, all newborns are vulnerable but preterm babies – especially. The problem of preterm birth remains one of the problems that has been overlooked in our society. In children with a birth weight, less than 1000 grams lungs do not have time to Mature and fully open at the first breath and the heart can't fight confidently!

Prematurely born children are especially a group of children who completely depend on the qualified help of doctors and the special equipment. Prematurely born children are born with the underdeveloped organs and systems which aren't fitted for functioning out of mother's womb yet. Therefore, these children almost always develop complications.

As the organism of the kids who were born before term can't independently cope with some functions, for such children special careful leaving is necessary. The main problem consists in a thermoregulation. It is very easy to supercool the kid or, on the contrary, to overheat. In this regard, the child is placed in the couveuse (plastic isolation ward) or an oxygen tent in which optimum temperature is maintained and oxygen to those kids who can't breathe at full capacity yet moves. Kids with a big degree of a prematurity and low weight are placed at first in the closed couveuse, then, in process of improvement of their state – in open.

In the first days of life, the baby doesn't get from the couveuse, all leaving is carried out immediately inside. To avoid developments of stagnation or deformations of the head, the kid is overturned by each 2-3 hours. The newborn is connected to several devices which record all main indicators of his state (temperature, pulse, respiration), dosed medications.

The holding of correct metered-dose infusion therapy to these children is only possible with the help of special devices – spray pumps. They serve a liquid for intravenous nutrition with precisely calculated speed and protect the blood vessels of the brain from fluid overload. The pump is intended for giving of medicines with high precision both at high and at low rates of infusion. And the main expendable material allowing to connect the baby to the pump is the cannula – a catheter which is intended for performing infusional therapy.

The catheter intravenous is a product of medical prescription for the long administration of medicines in peripheric veins (up to 3 days) or a conclusion of liquid, solutions of medicinal substances. It reduces a traumatizing of small children's veins. Also, thanks to this project we will buy hundreds of sterile extenders for catheters.

Such account and very necessary materials constantly aren't enough in the Dnipropetrovsk regional perinatal center with a hospital where prematurely born children are born every day. They need a special, thorough medical care every day.

We urge you not to be indifferent and to support the project, which will help us to provide the Dnipropetrovsk regional perinatal center catheters and sterile extensions, which will last at least six months.
