Help Yehor hear the world again

Yehor is 7 years old. He’s cheerful, talented, and loves to draw and play outdoors. He was born in the Kherson region and now lives in Lviv with his mother and younger sister. Sadly, his father is not involved in his life.

Yehor only recently started first grade – but until the age of six, he could barely hear. His family had no idea about his hearing loss until they moved to Lviv and completed a full medical check-up. Diagnosis: severe hearing loss, affecting both the conductive and sensory parts of the ear. This means that without hearing aids, Yehor is completely disconnected from the world of sound.

Thanks to his mother’s efforts, he received his first pair of hearing aids – and it changed everything. He started to hear, began working with a speech and hearing therapist, learned sign language, read lips, and even started speaking a little. But now, his hearing aids are broken and no longer work. Without them, Yehor is once again surrounded by silence.

He is raised by his mother alone, who is also caring for another child with a disability. She cannot afford new hearing aids on her own. But together – we can help.
