Help Anechka recover. 2
Anechka was born a healthy, active girl. She developed according to her age, grew up and enjoyed the world, but at the age of one and a half, her life changed dramatically. Ania stopped talking, picking up objects and walking. Instead of an active childhood, her family faced many examinations, tests and long-term treatment.
When Anya turned 7, doctors diagnosed her with cerebral palsy, and when she was 11, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, Rett syndrome. This disease progresses with age and further affects the child's abilities. During this time, Ania's spinal condition also deteriorated significantly. The girl developed a 4th degree scoliosis, which made it impossible for her to sit, stand or walk. The situation required urgent surgical intervention. In January 2023, doctors performed a complex scoliosis correction surgery, during which they installed a metal structure to support the spine, after which the girl spent 8 days on a ventilator, and she developed complications on her right lung. Anya spent a month and a half in the hospital fighting for her life, after which she was finally discharged home. However, for the next 4 months, she could not sit or stand – she was only allowed to stay in a 45-degree position.
Due to these restrictions, Anya was unable to attend rehabilitation centers, which led to the loss of some of the skills she had achieved before the surgery. Fortunately, the rehabilitation is improving the girl's condition: her physical condition has improved, her body spasms and salivation have decreased, the number of involuntary movements of her hands has decreased, and they have become relaxed. Anechka became more attentive and began to sit more confidently. However, the girl's rehabilitation needs to be continued.
We urge you to help Ania through this important stage in her life. Your support can change her future, so let's help her get into a new rehabilitation course!
