For a really long time a family of Ruslan and Vasylyna Velyki was dreaming of their home filled with child joy. And at last on the 21/01/2010 they've received a little miracle – Bogdanka. All together they were dreaming for a happy future. But short lived that joyfull time, soon the baby was diagnosed with a serious disease – DiGeorge syndrome. Unable to cope with pressure father abandoned his family. Since then nervous, sleepless nights and constant struggle for daughter's well being became daily reality for a young mom.
Being only 6 months old Bogdanka had her first heart surgery for pulmonary embolism, at the age of 2 – the second heart surgery. Then was the initial time for a nerve wrecking diagnosis – DiGeorge syndrome...
Faced with unknown to her diagnosis, a mother had no idea what kind of disease she will have to fight just to save her child. The worst thing about this sickness is that the child completely lacks of any immune system defense. Body cannot resist even the lightest virus, which can develop into very dramatic consequences.
On the top of everything another – Cerebral palsy.
Practically Bogdanka is unable to do anything by herself – she can't eat nor drink nor get dressed – she can't even play with her toys unless her mother helps. But on the other hand ( frankly) she really likes music, and always enjoys familiar songs. Also Bogdanka really loves books - not to read them or to listening her mom reading, but to playfully tear the pages out one by one. But the most exciting time for Bogdanka is when mom helps her stand up on her feet and she strolls across the room holding to mom's hands. It's that happiness in her child's eyes motivates mother continue to live and fight all the way to the victorious end.
For now Bogdana's mom is facing a huge and tremendously hard mission – to help her only daughter to become at least a tiny bit autonomous. Get her muscles to activate, teach her how to use her hands and legs but for all that, she needs a constant, long, detailed rehabilitation.
Bogdanna has already completed 3 courses in national rehabilitation Clinique in recovery healing at a city of Truskavets, and that brought great, satisfying results, but it turned out to be not enough. Mom kept fighting with awful decease for as long as she could, but the cost of rehab is proven to be more then she can bare. She is completely drained out and has no choice but to turn for help to kind and responsive people. The next course is scheduled on 12/01/2014 and costs 27 231 UAH.
Please help Bogdanka experience a genuine childhood!
