Six-year-old Vika from Dnipro loves drawing and fixing things around the house with her dad. She has Down’s syndrome and is in urgent need of regular sessions with specialists.
In accordance with Cooperation Agreement No. 21 between the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Foundation ‘Ukrainian Charity Exchange’ and the Charitable Aid Operator Charitable Foundation ‘Pomagayem’ dated 31 August 2020, and Supplementary Agreement No. 21. 351 dated 5 February 2026, the project ‘Help Vika undergo rehabilitation’ was posted on the website dobro.ua with the aim of raising charitable donations to cover the cost of Viktoria Kravets’ treatment.
The initial target amount to be raised was 24,150.00 UAH (twenty-four thousand one hundred and fifty hryvnias, 00 kopecks). Once the full amount required to cover Viktoria’s rehabilitation course at the ‘Ioannov Centre’ had been raised on two fundraising platforms: the Ukrainian Charity Exchange (UCE) and the ‘Pomagayem’ Charitable Foundation, we requested that the fundraising campaign be closed, that the project amount on the UCE be reduced to the actual amount raised – 14,030.00 UAH (fourteen thousand and thirty hryvnias, 00 kopecks), and to transfer the funds to our bank account to cover the rehabilitation costs and project administration, in accordance with letter No. 124 dated 20 March 2026.
In March, the girl successfully completed the long-awaited rehabilitation course at the Charitable Organisation ‘Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy and Inclusive Education Centre named after St John the Righteous’.
Things don’t always go as planned, and that can be really upsetting. This time, the rehabilitation sessions didn’t produce the expected results, as Vikulia fell ill twice, forcing us to interrupt the sessions.
Despite the difficulties, the girl’s mum is sincerely grateful for the opportunity to undergo this rehabilitation course, particularly for the massage sessions, psychological support and physiotherapy. The family is understanding of the situation, as some things are simply beyond our control.
The family also hopes that in the future the child will have the chance to take part in workshops that are currently unavailable due to age restrictions.
Meanwhile, swimming lessons are continuing at the nursery, which should gradually improve the little one’s overall condition. A course of speech stimulation with specialist Rakhmanov is planned for the near future, although the appointment with him has been postponed for over a month.
At present, all funds transferred from the Ukrainian Charity Exchange have been spent on the girl’s needs.
We sincerely thank the donors and partners of dobro.ua for their help, and the UCE team for their long-standing cooperation!
