In the family of Evgeniya Volovich and Irina Khomenko, there are four children. The eldest Ania is supporting and help for parents, but 15-year-old Jury has serious health troubles. When the boy was 5 months old, he fell ill with pneumonia and as a complication, encephalitis has developed. Because of it, Yura was completely paralyzed. After several weeks at the hospital, Yura recovered partially, but his right arm and leg remained practically immobilized.

Yura studies in the 9th grade of the village school. Mentally the boy is developed according to his age, there are no problems with speech, but he moves only in a wheelchair or crawling. The problem is not only in sluggish tetraparesis but also in scoliosis. Because of the fact that the muscles of the back on the right side are not functioning, Yura's spine is strongly twisted. Wearing a corset did not help, scoliosis reached the fourth stage.

Despite the severe disability, Jura lives a very active life. Teachers visit him at home, he can write with his left hand, he mostly gets "six" and "seven" marks at school. Also, Yura has a lot of friends among his classmates and outside it. Like all teenagers, he spends time on social networks and plays computer games. His favorite pastime is football. Right, right, ordinary outdoor football. The boys pick him up to the field, and Yura plays with them on all fours.

Nevertheless, the condition of the spine requires urgent surgical intervention. If not to do surgery now, soon the boy will not be able even to sit and crawl, there will be problems with breathing and other internal organs t which are situated in an unnatural position. Such kind of surgery can be conducted in the International Center of Neurosurgery in Kiev. The spine is aligned with a special metal frame, the child will sit and crawl, learn to walk on crutches. And what is the most importantly, that the threat to the functioning of vital organs will disappear. The cost of the operation is UAH 350 000. Most part of the funds have already been collected for Jura by indifferent people. But we need to find another UAH 84 500. It is almost impossible for a large family to find such amount of money – but for us and you it’s a matter of a few weeks. Without the surgery, Yura's life is under threat. Please support the boy!
